ReplyDeleteSilentOrchestra, I'm not too sure what you mean, but I'm guessing you mean streaming, like with YouTube. I won't be doing that since my other account got banned for uploading episodes. However, you can always download the episodes I uploaded with the links above. Or wait for the DVDs, which they are slowly releasing.

ReplyDeleteI've tried downloading episodes numerous times and I always seem to end up with just the audio. I don't know if it's because I've been having issues with my computer or if it's me being stupid; probably a little of both.
(Sorry to hear your account got banned; that stinks.) I guess I'll just have to wait until PBS uploads the episodes to their site to watch them, even though they take forever. >.<
No worries, SilentOrchestra. Now I know what you mean, thanks for explaining. When I made this blog I hadn't considered that people were running into their first AVI, SRT, or AC3 files. I'll probably make a post about how to play the files. Until then, I'll give you a quick tutorial.
ReplyDeleteThe main thing you want to get is the AVI file, that's the episode. Using the above post as an example, you'll want "WordGirl.3x04.The.Pretty.Princess.and.Mr.Big.Power.Hour.-.Clean.Up.in.Aisle.Eleven.avi"
Now for the playback. The easiest way I know is to use VLC Media Player. That player does not need any codecs to install or anything, just open the AVI file with VLC Media Player and you're ready to watch. You can get the player here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
I don't know your experience with downloading and installing new software, so I'll go over that real quick. Once you go to the videolan.org site, look for "Get VLC now!". Below that should be some binaries, which is what you will use to install VLC Media Player. Choose your OS, or Operating System. Which is probably Windows, but I'm not sure what you OS is.
I'll use Windows as the example. After you click on that, I recommend downloading the "Windows self-extracting package" since that should make installing easier for you.
You should be able to figure out the rest, but if you need help feel free to make a post asking for it. Good luck!
